What precautions are in-place for Carols?

Carols is a COVID-safe event in line with NSW government guidelines.

All guests aged 16 years and over must be double vaccinated or have a government issued exemption.

Patrons are required check in on arrival, show their proof of vaccination or valid exemption.

Additionally, Carols is an open air event and density limits apply throughout the Domain.

Will there be free tickets to Woolworths Carols in the Domain this year?

Yes. To provide a safe environment for all of our guest, Carols will be fully ticketed however we continue to offer free passes to the event. The ballot for free tickets has now closed by a limited number of general admission passes and reserved seats are still available here.

Our Christmas wish is that everyone who wants to come to Carols can come to Carols.

A ballot is the fairest way to offer tickets to everyone who would like to attend Woolworths Carols in the Domain.

Reserved seating

Join us in our premier reserved BEACH CHAIR* style seating area. Children 2 and under are free on an adults’ lap. Reserved areas will be open from 1pm, with entry by printed ticket or mobile device only.

General admission

Relax and enjoy the show with lawn passes for your Carols picnic. Bring your rugs and get in early to secure your spot at the Domain. General admission passes are on-sale Friday 26th November, check back for details.

What should I expect when I arrive at the Domain?

Please have your tickets ready on arrival. You will be required to scan your QR code and show your vaccination status to our attendants. Once you arrive, find your spot, get comfortable and enjoy the entertainment.

What time does Carols get underway?

Gates open from 1pm. Head down early to enjoy the festivities with a Christmas movie screening of The Santa Clause thanks to Disney, plus a pre-show concert, activities, giveaways and fabulous food and drinks.

What time does the Concert begin?

Woolworths Carols in the Domain will start at 8pm. We ask that all guests are seated by 7.45pm for the show.

Do I need to be vaccinated to attend Carols?

In line with the NSW Government guidance, patrons aged 16 years and over must be double vaccinated or have a government issued exemption.

What should I bring to Carols?

We encourage you to bring:

  • picnic rugs and ground seating
  • hat and sunscreen
  • free-standing small shade structures (no pegging into the ground allowed). Please note all shade structures must be dismantled prior to the event broadcast beginning to give all patrons around you a clear view of the show.
  • plenty of Christmas cheer!

What should I leave at home?

We as that patrons don't bring the following items to Woolworths Carols in the Domain:

  • Plastic ground cover
  • Elevated seating and large beach umbrellas
  • Glass products
  • Tent or camping pegs of any sort (metal, plastic or wooden), as they damage underground irrigation and are a hazard to picnickers and footballers using the Domain
  • Sparklers / Fireworks
  • Tents or marquees
  • Pets
  • BBQs
  • Bean bags or inflatable furniture
  • Please note: this is a family event it is alcohol restricted. Only bring small quantities of alcohol according to the safe drinking standards set out by the Department of Health - click here for guidelines. Intoxication will not be permitted.

What kind of seating is at the Domain?

Outside of the reserved seating section the event is lawn seating only.

Patrons are encouraged to bring picnic rugs and seating such as deck/camping chairs with low legs which sit no higher than 23cms. Please note that high chairs and beach umbrellas cannot be used on the Domain site so be sure to bring your sunscreen and hat along with you.

Are there telephones?

Public phones are located on the corner of Hospital Road and Macquarie Street near The Domain. The Art Gallery of NSW and Sydney Hospital also have public phones.
