Thank you for being green! Your e-ticket will be emailed to you closer to the event. You will also receive important information to help make your Carols experience as enjoyable as possible including a map and transport tips.

Can I just turn up on the day?

Yes! This year, The Festive Lawn is a huge, free and non-ticketed area where you can enjoy the show. Bring your picnic along or enjoy the many food options available, and get in early to secure your spot. The pre-show entertainment and action on the ground starts from 1 pm! Bring your friends, family and Christmas cheer!

What tickets are available this year?

If you prefer convenient reserved seating up closer to the stage, take advantage of the limited reserved seating available to purchase through Ticketbooth. Hurry, seats are selling out.

Join us in our premier reserved BEACH CHAIR* style seating area. Children 2 and under are free on an adult’s lap. Reserved areas will be open from 1 pm, with entry by your e-ticket on your mobile device.

Is there a 'pick up' and 'drop off' point?

There is no 'pick up' point as all surrounding roads are closed at 9pm to allow safe public egress.

There is a designated 'drop off' area located in Hospital Road, entering off Art Gallery Road. The drop off area is to be used by any vehicle that is dropping off patrons attending the event; including taxis, ride sharing services, hire cars and public patrons. The maximum time limit for the vehicles is 1 minute. No vehicles are permitted to park in the zone at any stage.

What should I expect when I arrive at the Domain?

The Festive Lawn
The majority of seating for Woolworths Carols in the Domain is free, lawn based seating. Come early to enjoy the pre-Show entertainment on activity taking place.

Reserved Ticket Areas
Reserved Ticket holders please have your e-tickets ready on arrival. Once you arrive, find your spot, get comfortable and enjoy the entertainment!

Food, Fun and Lots of Activities
BYO picnic or enjoy the convenience of our many food and drink vendors on site. The fun kicks off at 1pm with the Disney Christmas Classic, The Santa Clause, starring Tim Allen, played on the big screen. This family favourite is perfect viewing for all ages. Our pre-Show entertainment on stage starts at 3pm followed by the Carols Red Carpet at 5.30pm.

Walk around Carols and find lots of activities proudly presented by our partners. You could win prizes at Woolworths Wonder of Christmas, the Destination Canada Snow Globe plus there's lots more to see and do.

Don't forget to stay hydrated and be considerate of others.

What time does Carols get underway?

Entertainment and on ground activity begins from 1 pm. Head down early to enjoy the festivities, activities, giveaways and fabulous food and drinks, plus a pre-show concert from 3pm. Our Red Carpet runs from 5.30pm-6.30pm and the show gets underway from 7.45pm.

What time does Carols begin?

Woolworths Carols in the Domain will start at 8pm. We ask that all guests are seated by 7.45pm for the Show.

What should I bring to Carols?

We encourage you to bring:

  • picnic rugs and ground seating
  • hat and sunscreen
  • free-standing small shade structures (no pegging into the ground allowed). Please note all shade structures must be dismantled prior to the event broadcast beginning to give all patrons around you a clear view of the Show
  • something warm just in case it gets chilly when the sun goes down
  • plenty of Christmas cheer!

What should I leave at home?

Patrons are asked to not bring the following items to Woolworths Carols in the Domain:

  • Plastic ground cover
  • Elevated seating and large beach umbrellas
  • Glass products or single use plastic
  • Tent or camping pegs of any sort (metal, plastic or wooden), as they damage underground irrigation and are a hazard to picnickers and footballers using the Domain
  • Sparklers / Fireworks
  • Tents or marquees
  • Pets
  • BBQs
  • Bean bags or inflatable furniture
  • Please note: This is a family event and alcohol is restricted. Only bring small quantities of alcohol according to the safe drinking standards set out by the Department of Health - click here for guidelines. Intoxication will not be permitted.

Can I buy food and beverages?

A delicious array of delights are available at this year’s Woolworths Carols in the Domain! You'll be able to enjoy everything from souvlaki, schnitzel, pizza, gozleme, Brazilian, donuts, gelato, and coffee and so much more.

You are also welcome to bring your own food and drinks along to The Domain, as long as they adhere to our no glass policy. Glass is not allowed at the Domain so please bring plastic bottles and containers, or cans instead. We encourage you to avoid single use plastic.

Remember to drink plenty of water throughout the event day.

What if I lose my child or need information at Carols?

There is a Lost Children/Information Booth located on the stage left side of the venue near the main Hospital Road crossing.

This booth is manned by qualified Salvation Army representatives. Both the Salvos staff and roaming security staff will be able to assist with a lost child or general event enquiries. Please assist the Carols Team with lost kids by writing your mobile phone number on their arm. This way we can contact you sooner.

What kind of seating is at the Domain?

Outside of the reserved seating section the event is lawn seating only.

Patrons are encouraged to bring picnic rugs and seating such as beach chairs with low legs which sit no higher than 23cms. Please note that high chairs and beach umbrellas cannot be used on the Domain site. Be sure to bring your sunscreen and hat along with you.

Preserving the Gardens

Please respect the beautiful environment of The Royal Botanic Gardens while you are enjoying Carols. We ask that you take your rubbish with you or use the rubbish bins provided when leaving the Gardens.
