I bought my tickets but haven't received anything yet?

Thank you for being green! Your e-ticket will be emailed to you closer to the event. You will also receive important information to help make your Carols experience as enjoyable as possible including a map and transport tips.

Is there a 'pick up' and 'drop off' point?

There is no 'pick up' point as all surrounding roads are closed at 9pm to allow safe public egress.

There is a designated 'drop off' area located in Hospital Road, entering off Art Gallery Road. The drop off area is to be used by any vehicle that is dropping off patrons attending the event; including taxis, ride sharing services, hire cars and public patrons. The maximum time limit for the vehicles is 1 minute. No vehicles are permitted to park in the zone at any stage.

What should I bring to Carols?

We encourage you to bring:

  • picnic rugs and low to the ground seating
  • hat and sunscreen
  • free-standing small shade structures (no pegging into the ground allowed). Please note all shade structures must be dismantled prior to the event broadcast beginning to give all patrons around you a clear view of the Show
  • something warm just in case it gets chilly when the sun goes down
  • plenty of Christmas cheer!

What should I leave at home?

Patrons are asked to not bring the following items to the Domain:

  • Plastic ground cover
  • Elevated seating and large beach umbrellas
  • Glass products or single use plastic
  • Tent or camping pegs of any sort (metal, plastic or wooden), as they damage underground irrigation and are a hazard to picnickers and footballers using the Domain
  • Sparklers / Fireworks
  • Tents or marquees
  • Pets
  • BBQs
  • Bean bags or inflatable furniture
  • Please note: This is a family event and alcohol is restricted. Only bring small quantities of alcohol according to the safe drinking standards set out by the Department of Health - click here for guidelines. Intoxication will not be permitted.

Preserving the Gardens

Please respect the beautiful environment of The Royal Botanic Gardens while you are enjoying Carols. We ask that you take your rubbish with you or use the rubbish bins provided when leaving the Gardens.
