Ashleigh Rubenach is one of Australia’s most celebrated musical theatre leading ladies, renowned for her commanding stage presence, vocal power and sharp comic instinct. Most recently, she toured Australia, Singapore and China as Betty Schaefer in Sunset Boulevard for Opera Australia/GWB Productions, earning a Sydney Theatre Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her performance.
Ashleigh starred as Nancy in the Australian premiere of Groundhog Day (GWB Productions), and has delivered standout performances across some of the world’s most iconic stages and scores. Her credits include Johanna in Sweeney Todd at the Sydney Opera House (Victorian Opera), Milo Davenport in An American in Paris (GWB Productions/The Australian Ballet), and Billie Bendix in Nice Work If You Can Get It for Hayes Theatre Company. Her turn as Allison in Cry-Baby at Hayes Theatre Company earned her the Sydney Theatre Award for Best Female Actor, cementing her reputation as a fearless and versatile performer.
Additional theatre highlights include Muriel’s Wedding (Global Creatures), Anything Goes and My Fair Lady(GFO/Opera Australia), Funny Girl with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, and The Sound of Music (GFO).
