Kate Miller-Heidke is an award-winning singer, songwriter, and composer whose genre-defying work spans pop, folk, classical and musical theatre. She has released five top-ten studio albums, including O Vertigo!, Nightflight, and the double-platinum Curiouser, which produced hits like “The Last Day on Earth” and the award-winning “Caught in the Crowd.” Her 2020 album Child in Reverse debuted in the ARIA top ten and was reissued in 2022, further cementing her reputation as one of Australia’s most innovative musical voices.
Trained at the Queensland Conservatorium, Kate has performed major operatic roles with the Metropolitan Opera (New York), English National Opera, and at the Sydney Opera House. Her debut opera The Rabbits won four Helpmann Awards, and her musical theatre collaborations with Keir Nuttall include Muriel’s Wedding The Musical, which premiered in the UK in 2025, and the award-winning original musical Bananaland. She represented Australia at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest, placing in the top ten and receiving the Marcel Bezançon Award for Artistic Achievement.
In 2024–25, Kate toured nationally with her Catching Diamonds and Telling Tales tours, and she currently serves as a Coach on The Voice Australia. 2025 marks her first year performing at Carols, where she brings her extraordinary voice and theatricality to the festive stage. Her sixth studio album, a “gothic folk” project, is set for release in 2026.
